Do you find yourself checking that you are eating a balanced meal? Do you enjoy researching the benefits of the food you eat? Eating – we all do it to survive and most of us enjoy it, but do we really know if what we are putting in our body is good for us? It is well established that special elements in foods and combinations of foods are not only required for optimal growth and development, but also are strongly implicated in health promotion and disease prevention and treatment. The program of study in the Food & Nutrition Career Pathway at Marietta High School is designed for training students in careers in health-related fields who wish to understand the basis for nutrition functions and human nutrient requirements.
