Do you want to help people, to have that rewarding feeling at the end of the day knowing you may have made a difference in someone’s life?  Do you like a challenge that brings an adrenaline rush?  Have you wanted to be hurrying to a hospital’s emergency entrance with an ambulance rushing to save someone’s life? Could you see yourself helping to stabilize a heart attack patient until arriving at the hospital? Or could you see yourself containing a fire to prevent further danger?  In law enforcement, firefighting, and emergency medical responding, every day has the potential to be completely different from the last and the Law Enforcement Services, Emergency Medical Responder, and Firefighting Career Pathways at Marietta High School may be just the opportunity you are looking for.  A career in these areas allows motivated people to try their hand at a host of unique and interesting skills and job tasks.  Working crime scenes, guarding perimeters, being the first on the scene of medical emergencies, and fighting fires can be so interesting and intriguing that often job tasks do not feel like work.

The Law Enforcement Services, Emergency Medical Responder, and Firefighting Career Pathways fall under the Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security Career Cluster that prepares individuals for employment relating to emergency and fire services, legal services, protective services and homeland security.

If you like helping people and thrive on the adrenaline created in emergency situations, the Emergency Medical Responder Career Pathway at Marietta High School teaches students skills to help them get started in the amazing and growing career area of providing initial medical care in emergency situations in this upbeat and exciting career area. Firefighting Career Pathway

Have you or a family member received help from a firefighter? Have you ever wanted to be a part of a team helping the community for the common good? Do you like physical activity? Firefighters not only fight fires, but also protect the community from disaster situations, including house and building fires, and promote an environment of public safety. They respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for fighting and containing fires and other specialized service such as hazardous materials, confined spaces and other rescues, fire prevention demos, and infant car seat installations. Learn foundational and advanced skills in preparation for this career in the Firefighting Career Pathway at Marietta High School. Law Enforcement Services Career Pathway

Do you like variety and ever-changing situations? Do you enjoy helping people? Do you enjoy doing a variety of activities each day? Careers in law enforcement can involve a variety of activities each day including stopping crimes in progress, interviewing victims and witnesses, writing reports, testifying in court, forming relationships with the community, and responding to emergencies. The Law Enforcement Services Career Pathway at Marietta High School teaches students skills used in law enforcement careers. Develop an understanding of law enforcement agencies; learn to use the necessary equipment; interact with law enforcement professionals; practice skills needed to succeed; and explore the variety of career opportunities and settings in this exciting career field.
